Editing: Researching different techniques

My partners and I were researching different techniques and ways of editing. I researched color and lighting. Jorge focused on researching different cutting techniques. Meanwhile, Alex focused on doing transitions and different filters and effects within the editor. Something that I forgot to mention last editing blog is that the name of the editor is DaVinci Resolve 17. I feel that this editor is great as there is many things that you can do on the editor.

One thing that I learned about lighting is that a darker lighting can create a sadder scene. Also, a brighter lighting can create a scene with a better mood. Lighting is often used to help express the emotion of the scene to the viewer. Typically the more advanced the video and film production, the more advanced the lighting is. Also, there are some benefits from having good lighting such as good lighting being appealing to the human eye.

After researching lighting, I researched coloring. Color adds energy and excitement to scenes where its being used. Although color may not seem natural to a scene sometimes, if it adds any excitement to the scene it might as well be used. However, having too much color can be a bad thing as it can be distracting if too much is being used.

After we finished researched our techniques, we wanted to discuss them. We started a call on discord and each gave a brief summary of what we learned. We then thought of different ways that each of our techniques can be applied to the music video. We were discussing for a little on some ways that these techniques can be applied to our music video to make it look better. To summarize, we did some research so that we can finds ways to make our music video look better and more appealing.
