Finishing up filming

Image
Our group spent today filming the remaining scenes for our final task. So we all went over to TY Park to film what we needed to film. We began by setting up everything and preparing to film the remainder of what we needed to film. We then put on our uniforms to ensure that we were all ready. We all agreed that we needed to find new locations to shoot the remaining scenes.     We  were looking for a new location where we could finish these final scenes strong. Our group searched for the location separately until we found it. We then brought all of our equipment over to the location where we wanted to film once we had found it. We started filming the scenes for today after setting it up. There were a lot of scenes that I liked that we filmed.       My two favorite scenes that we filmed today were the scenes where there was the final fight and the scenes where the soldiers were lined up. I felt that watching the fighting scene was very fun and enjoyable. And I honestly just thought i

Starting the filming process

Our group  began filming our Final Task Intro today. Early in the morning, my partners and I met at TY Park. We decided to leave early in the morning in case the filming took longer than expected, and we needed to figure out where we would shoot the scenes.      We started setting up everything and getting ready to film as soon as we arrived at the park. We began by putting on the uniforms that we had purchased. Jorge wore his army uniform and began scouting locations for filming. He was primarily looking for hilltops and other locations that could be useful for our filming. He'd discovered a few hills and some pleasant surroundings that he thought would be ideal for filming. After my group and I regrouped, we began to examine each of the areas we had discovered.      We had started filming our first scene, in which the soldiers are under fire. We decided to shoot this scene first because Jorge and I thought it would be fun. This scene was a lot of fun to shoot because Jorge ha

Preparing to film

My group and I are just about getting ready to film our final task. All we need to do is to make sure we have everything ready to go so that we can film. The first thing that we had to make sure we had were the costumes and props for our film. As of right now we have what we need but if we need anything else we can buy it before we begin the filming process.          Next, we had to discuss our filming location as we are still uncertain as to where we will be filming our final task. We were originally gonna film at a park near Alex's house.  However, after further consideration, we realized that we lacked the necessary equipment to film an action-themed film in that small park. As a result, we began to consider new locations. The new location that we ended up going with is TY park. TY park was chosen because it has the structures and terrain that we were looking for, such as hills and large obstacles.           After we had our filming location set, the next thing we needed to

Searching for an editing software and testing them out

Image
Today, I decided to look into some editing software that my team and I could use. I reasoned that getting familiar with the editing software would be extremely beneficial when the time came to actually edit. I browsed the internet to see what kind of editing software's would be good for us when it comes time to edit.       Jorge had asked for some recommendations for editing software, so I went out and looked for some so I could tell him which ones would be good. After doing some research on editing software, there were many options that we could use. Because it is so simple to access and use, iMovie was one of the potential options. iMovie is one of, if not the most simple editing software available, for those who want to learn how to edit.      However, I decided to stick with an editing software that I had previously used. DaVinci Resolve 17 is the name of this software. In my opinion, this program is user-friendly for people at the beginner to intermediate level. I felt th

Researching costume designs

My partners and I decided today that we needed outfits for our film. Jorge felt that getting the costumes early would be best in case they were hard to come by or in short supply. And so I chose to conduct research in order to choose the design of the costumes we would use for our final Task. I began by looking at military costumes on the internet to see if there were any good costumes. We came across a few that piqued our curiosity. We kept these costumes in our minds.           Next, I went to Google Images to hunt for military costumes. There were a couple of other costumes that caught my eye. Following that, I wanted to see if there was a nice website where I could discover good costume designs. There were a few websites that I browsed through. Party City was one of the websites that caught my interest. It was simple to find everything we wanted on the website, and it was well-organized. PartyCity.com was the website that I ended up using to locate costume designs as there wer

Researching Music

Image
My partners and I started searching for music for our final task's opening video sequence today. We began by generating ideas in a brainstorming session. We started by thinking about what we've seen in other movies and how we could apply it to our own opening sequence.      Jorge's first idea was of a tune he had heard that sounded like opera. He'd seen this in a few war movies and felt it may work for our opening sequence. He had in mind an entrance scene with either explosives exploding or soldiers fleeing in slow motion while the music played. While the music was playing, the noises of the soldiers marching and shouting would be muffled. We haven't decided whether or not to use this notion, but it's something we're considering.      I then considered searching YouTube for royalty-free music. We wanted something inspiring that sounded like it was in the brink of something. The majority of the music Jorge discovered didn't quite meet our needs. I d

Final Task Storyboard

Page 1: The movie opens with a screen showing the name of the production company. The first scene shows Admiral Murphy at a war table. He picks up a communication device and calls our main character Stephan. Stephan answers while hiding in a bush with his friend Charles.  Page 2: Stephan and Charles look ahead at enemy army forces assembling. They contact the admiral back. He is surprised and automatically calls the commander of the nearby platoon. They then inform him that it is clear in their area and no chance of anything going wrong.  Page 3: Cuts to the war room and the admiral hears screaming and loud sounds on the other side coming from the platoon. Stephan and Charles run back and they see the destruction of their entire platoon. They then call back the admiral and report:” Code Black”. Fades out and shows the director.
