AICE media studies group blog

    For my upcoming projects in media studies, I will be working in a group with two other students. The two students that I will be working with are Jorge Lopez and Katie Weiss. Last year in media studies, Jorge and I were in a group with a different group member. This year however, we decided to find a new group member and we came across Katie. I feel that we as a group will work well together and have great chemistry overall. We all are hardworking and stay on top of any task that is thrown at us. 

    I have known Jorge Lopez since we were in middle school and I have been friends with him ever since. The chemistry between Jorge and I is great beacuse beacuse of how long we have known each other for. We also hang out a lot and do things outside of school like going to the gym. He is also great at editing and he can get creative when he is filming a scene. I feel that Jorge is especially good at editing beacuse he knowns how to pay attention to certain details. These attributes of his can be very useful for our upcoming projects in this course. 

   As for Katie, I only recently got to know her this year. But based on what I have seen, she is an excellent student who works extremely hard. She is in the same period as Jorge and I which makes it significantly easier to communicate as a group. Katie is great when it comes to being creative and artistic. These attributes of hers can be very helpful later on as creativity is vital when it comes to filming.

    This year, I hope everything goes as planned and that our team chemistry works out. I have high hopes for our group because we all possess qualities that will enable us to succeed in this course. I am really excited and cannot wait to see the future of our group.

    Today I started to edit my scenes for my commercial. To edit the scenes I used iMovie. Some of my scenes were filmed a few times so I will review and choose the best one. Then after choosing the best scenes, I will start to edit the scenes. I was looking at the length of each of my scenes and estimated how long my commercial will be. Some of the scenes need to be cut and merged with another scene.           I did research on how to edit/cut videos. I researched this so that I  know how to to cut and edit my scenes.    Title Design Research: Action Detective Pikachu: 1.How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones? Lots of titles are shown in the opening sequence of the movie. The usual ones such as Director and assistant director are shown. Since the movie had many different visual effects there was an emphasis on that part of the crew, such as the visual effects director.  2.What connotations do the images carry? (how do you they make you feel) They bring about a sense of nostalgia, especially for those who have been pokemon fans for years. They are bright and colorful and appear to be alive.  3.How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset?   "Proximity" is a short film directed by Ryan Connolly and produced by Triune Films. The film falls into the action genre. Common Sound in the action genre: Sound is a crucial element in any film, and the action genre is no exception. Action films often use fast-paced, intense music and sound effects to match the high-energy action on screen. In "Proximity," the sound design is used to great effect, with the use of suspenseful music and sound effects adding to the tension of the film's action sequences.
